Two new products have recently appeared on the market, Crafty + and Utillian 722.

Approximately both devices are similar in terms of dimensions, construction and functionality.

Both have hybrid-convection heating, while the price differs greatly.

Below you will read about basic information about Crafty + and Utillian 722.

Utillian 722

Steam quality

While the old version of Crafty and its bigger brother, Mighty, get very good reviews when it comes to vaporizing the herb, Utillian 722 is also surprisingly close in terms of efficiency and quality of the vapor produced. It has a patented heating system that provides vaporization enthusiasts with high-quality, strong and tasty vapor.

Crafty +, which also has a cooling unit in its construction (lid), and delivers a slightly smoother vapor than Utillian 722, although it is sometimes much harder to clean. Both models produce very strong vapor, however Crafty + slightly gives it a little more.

Taking all aspects into account, Utillian 722 is qualitatively close to Crafty + in terms of steam generation, but it will be incredibly hard to beat years of practice and amazing engineering from "Storz & Bickel". So when it comes to vapor quality, the Crafty+ ranks right at the top.

Production quality

It's hard to deny the high quality of Storz & Bickel vaporizers, but Crafty + leaves much to be desired in terms of physical construction. It is reliable, solid and effective, but it is made of plastic. Crafty + is a medical product and safe to use, however, the feeling of plastic in the hands is a huge disappointment, especially for a device that costs around PLN 1,000.

Utillian 722 has an aluminum housing that is very solid and looks beautiful. The mouthpiece has an aluminum housing, thanks to which it gives it an attractive appearance. The lightweight and portable Utillian 722 beats the Crafty+ in terms of physical design and aesthetics.

Battery life

None of the devices in question have a removable battery, such as in the V5 Nano. Both use charging via the microUSB port, but the battery life in Utillian 722 is slightly better than that in Crafty +.

The Crafty+ can expect 5 to 7 sessions on a full charge, the Utillian 722 is capable of 6 to 8 sessions on a single charge. It seems to be a minor issue, but in this matter it is the Utillian 722 that wins.

Mobility

Both devices are portable pickpockets, although they are not the smallest, such as DaVinci MIQRO. Crafty + is characterized by less weight and slightly smaller size, and its plastic construction is, however, very durable and reliable, and the practicality of using dosing capsules on the go is difficult to beat by other models.

The Utillian 722 is a great portable vaporizer, it's almost the same size, but it will be very hard to overthrow the Crafty+.

Service

Both devices are easy to use with just one button. Crafty+ has a dedicated application, some may find that using the application may be an unnecessary addition. It should be mentioned here that Apple has started blocking applications for vaporizers, which means that if you are an iPhone user, you may have a problem with the full service and functionality of Crafty+. For this reason, we have to give the victory to Utillian 722. There is no application here, so you do not need to engage your smartphone to operate the vaporizer, and there is also no fear that your device will be deprived of functionality at the whim of a company such as Apple.

Thanks to its more unique and industrial design, the Crafty + can gain a few more advantages, it is slightly smaller than the Utillian 722. Taking this into account, the Utillian 722 looks more inconspicuous and it is really difficult to encounter any problems with this device. This is a tie for both units in this category.

Users who want an even more discreet device tend to lean towards the Davinci MIQRO.

Range of supported temperatures

Both devices have a slightly limited temperature setting option. Unlike other devices, such as the Arizer Solo 2, which offer precise temperature control. As mentioned earlier, we only use one button to control the device, which means limited choices. The Utillian 722 has 4 preset temperatures and a fifth "boost" mode.

The Crafty+ has the ability to choose from 2 pre-set temperatures as well as a boost mode. While Crafty + has a smartphone app (if you don't currently have iOS) that allows you to choose temperatures, it's better in the Utillian 722.

While it's not a big win, we certainly prefer the better versatility and higher maximum temperature the Utillian 722 provides, and it wins in this category. And as we noted earlier, iPhone users can only get stuck with 3 settings, which makes the Utillian 722 better in this matter.

The two units are quite similar in the long run. The Crafty+ is hard to beat in terms of its performance and vapor quality, but the Utillian 722 really comes close and thanks to its low price, the Utillian is worth considering. Its aesthetics, build quality and other minor advantages make it a strong competitor to Crafty + and even in some respects it is superior to Crafty +.

Summary

Crafty +  is a good portable vaporizer and, like Mighty, produces very high-quality vapor, but the price difference between Crafty+ and Utillian 722 is significant. Aluminum construction, better temperature control and great vapor quality in the 722 are the big advantages of this model. If you have a limited budget, you dream of Crafty+ and you can't afford it, go ahead and choose the Utillian 722 because it will provide you with comparable experiences for much less money.
