Verbena officinalis - Common verbena, known as the 
medicinal verbena, is a herb that played an important 
role in ancient cultures. Its unique power was evidenced 
by names such as "dragon grass" and "iron verbena". 
Verbena root was a kind of amulet and was worn by 
Egyptian priests. 

Druids, on the other hand, cleaned their 
altars with water and verbena, and the ancient Persians
used the herb verbena for divination. To this day, natural 
medicine uses the healing properties of this amazing plant.

Common verbena has been used in cosmetology. The infusion
made from the leaves is used as a compress in conjunctivitis. 
It also has a beneficial effect on tired eyes (washing them
with a cotton pad, soaked in verbena infusion). Herbs 
can be added to a relaxing and invigorating bath.

Verbena tea is recommended for digestive problems 
and for liver ailments. The infusion has a diuretic effect 
and prevents urinary tract inflammation. It also has 
anticoagulant properties. Common verbena is used
externally. Decoction compresses reduce fever, you
can wash bruises, lesions and ecchymoses on the 
skin with the specific preparation. 

The rinse, made from verbena leaves, soothes
purulent pharyngitis. Dried leaf compresses are
applied to wounds, ulcers, and accelerate healing. 
Verbena flower extract heals migraines, strengthens
and supports the fight against anemia. Verbena tea 
helps with depression and melancholy. 

The infusion is effective when consumed after the flu,
when the weakened organism is prone to depressed
mood. An interesting fact is the effect of verbena on
enhancing potency, so its leaves can be added 
to dishes and tinctures.
