Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum - L), also known as
the Indian basil, is a species of plant from the Lyme 
family. It comes from the tropical part of Asia 
(Malaysia, Indian Peninsula). It occurs naturally in 
tropical areas, but can also be successfully grown 
even in temperate climates. It is one of the most
important plants in Hinduism, often used in 
morning and evening services.

It is classified as an adaptogen, i.e. plants that increase
the body's resistance. Tusli is found in a variety of herbal 
preparations and blends. Hindus also call it the elixir of life, 
because they believe that it has a beneficial effect on all
processes taking place in the body. In the past, it was 
treated with: heart disease, asthma, anxiety, indigestion, 
diarrhea, back pain, arthritis, skin diseases, even 
snake bites and scorpions.

Currently, it is used in the fight against diabetes, it is good 
for fever, it fights stress, protects the heart, and 
dissolves kidney stones.
