Latin lavender (Lavendula L.) - a genus of plants from the Lyme family.
It includes over 40 species.
They come from the Mediterranean area, from the Canary Islands to India.
A typical species is Lavendula spica L.

Lavender flowers contain, apart from their beautiful aroma, unique and very
desirable substances - a large amount of tannins (12%), triterpenes, coumarins,
phytosterols, anthocyanins, organic acids, and mineral salts.

The complex essential oil is the most valuable. It consists of substances that are rarely
found in the plant world, but have a broad spectrum of activity: linalool, geraniol, furfurol,
pinene, cuneol, borneol, tannins, sugars and minerals.

Lavender calms and tones the nervous system thanks to the aromatic compounds
contained in lavender oil.
The fragrance soothes the effects of emotional and nervous stress and makes it easier to fall asleep.
Dried flowers and lavender leaves can be kept in a fabric bag next to a pillow,
they will help you sleep through the night.
The scent of lavender will also stimulate mental activity in the event of fatigue and weariness.
It will be effective to sprinkle lavender-based toilet water, light an aromatherapy fireplace or take
a bath with a few drops of essential oil.

Lavender supports the digestive system, stimulates the secretion of gastric juices and bile,
improves appetite and digestion, and soothes colic and flatulence.
